Hello! We need a lawn where children can play, run and ride scooters and dogs can frolic. It is very important that the grass is resistant to bumping and easy to recover. Zoysia grass was recommended, but I do not know how long it will withstand intensive use. Has anyone tried to put children and animals on such grass?

I grew grass in my yard. Zoysia is very resistant to loads, thanks to its dense structure and strong roots. After first few weeks of care, she creates a dense lawn that can easily withstand running and active games. The main thing is to sow the seeds correctly, prepare the soil and water before rooting. Next care is minimal: trimming and rare watering. Even with intensive use the lawn remains green and dense. For play areas it is one of the best options, especially in hot summer and with limited watering.

I think that grass can handle the load better than ordinary lawn. It is important to remember that the first 6-8 weeks after planting the roots are still weak, so it is better to limit activity. When the lawn is firmer, it withstands intensive use, remains green and dense.
