The pharmaceutical firm Cephalon, Inc., with headquarters in the United States, manufactures and sells the brand-name drug modafinil.</p><p>Modafinil’s patent, however, ran out on April 6, 2015, allowing other pharmaceutical firms to start making generic versions of the drug. The leading generic Modafinil product, Modvigil, is created by the Indian pharmaceutical company HAB Pharma.</p><p>Using the R-()- and S-(+)-enantiomers, Modvigil uses the EXACT SAME active components and chemical structure as the name-brand Modafinil. It costs substantially less than brand-name Modafinil while providing the same cognitive advantages.</p>
