Workshop on Mathematics Problem Solving

About the workshop

The workshop will aim towards making the process of solving math problems explicit, as well as learning to solve the problems. The workshop will also focus on how to communicate your solutions, in this section we will study some solution given by experts!

• Heuristics of problem solving
• Knowing and using mathematical practices
• Problem posing and questioning
• Communicating mathematical solutions

This workshop is for mathematics teachers teaching grades 6 to 9. The workshop will be in bi/multi-lingual mode, languages depending on the set of teachers. The teachers will be supported with a minimal fixed allowance for travel and food (calculated on per day basis). Attending the workshop on all four days is mandatory, exception emergencies. The reason behind this is that the various components of learning to solve mathematics problem are spread over the four days.
