Guest

I make custom furniture. The client asked for a TV to be integrated into the cabinet, raised and lowered by a button. Having never worked with automation before, I’m looking for reliable drive that can handle vertical movement and operate smoothly. It’s preferable for system to be compact and not take up much space inside the cabinet. What’s best to choose, and how do I calculate the appropriate mechanism?

Guest
I think linear electric actuators https://www.progressiveautomations.ca/collections/linear-actuators would be a good choice. They have miniature and micro models specifically for limited space. PA-14P series is compact, but has built-in potentiometer for precise position control. You can install two drives and synchronize them via controller to ensure smooth, slanted movement. All units are certified and come with 18-month warranty. Custom orders for specific stroke and voltage are available if the standard parameters aren’t suitable.

Guest
In projects like these, it’s important to consider the mounting hardware. Make sure the mechanism is aligned with the TV’s center of gravity. You can add stops to prevent the motor from overloading. It’s best to hide the wires in a cable channel for a neat look.
