Rooibos herbal tea is a very flavorful herbal tea, or tissue, made from the leaves of rooibos. It is a naturally caffeinated tea, however, so it s not considered to be a dieter tea. South Africa is probably the only nation that grow rooibos and have been cultivating it for hundreds of years. Rooibos has been consumed for centuries around the world. In fact, it is one of the world’s oldest known herbal medicines.

I recently read an article on rooibos benefits that claimed these same benefits were found in green tea. While I’m not an expert in the field, rooibos tea does have some of the same substances found in green tea. Some studies even show that green tea may help reverse atherosclerosis and increase brain function. Therefore, while it would be nice to consume rooibos as a daily tea, I don’t think it would be worth consuming large amounts on a daily basis. However, if you’re a coffee or alcohol enthusiast, these rooibos benefits will still be worth taking.

According to some studies, the main rooibos benefits are its health benefits. Research indicates that it can help decrease blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. All of these health benefits come from the powerful antioxidants found in the tea. Antioxidants fight free radicals which are part of the reason our arteries clog up and why we get stroke and heart attack. The antioxidants found in rooibos tea benefits include flavonoids and polyphenols.

It should be noted that the caffeine-free version of rooibos tea does not contain the same amount of antioxidants. Therefore, the caffeine content of the tea may be a bit lacking. That being said, the caffeine content in decaffeinated rooibos tea isn’t going to kill you! Even with the minimal amount of caffeine, it’s still very effective. But when adding decaf to the tea, take care not to add too much. You’ll end up getting a caffeinated rush instead of the benefits.

Other research has shown that the antioxidants in green rooibos can reduce LDL cholesterol levels. This is a huge benefit since LDL is what causes hardening of the arteries and leads to heart attack. The antioxidants found in green rooibos also reduce inflammation, which can result in pain and depression. Studies have also shown that rooibos can lower high blood pressure. It’s because of all these amazing benefits that rooibos is fast becoming the number one herbal tea on the planet. If you’re looking for a great way to get all of these health benefits while losing weight, green rooibos is perfect.

One of the best known rooibos health benefits is its ability to detoxify your system. Since this tea good for headaches is made up of powerful antioxidants, it gets rid of built up toxins in your body. It also boosts your immune system, as well as helping to clear your skin of blemishes. So not only does this tea help you lose weight, it also helps you clear up your skin and fight the elements that harm your body. Who doesn’t want to look and feel their best?

When making hot rooibos tea, use a stainless teapot and water heaters that are only used for drinking. Use a microwave to avoid scorching the tea leaves. Do not boil the water in your teapot. Instead, bring the boiling water to a gentle simmer and only use a teaspoon or so. I prefer the flavor of steaming the tea with fresh loose leaf tea rather than boiling it. Adding some honey when making hot rooibos tea will also enhance its health benefits.

Along with its great benefits for your health, drinking rooibos also helps you have glowing, healthy skin. This is due to the fact that the flavonoids are very powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants protect cells from external and internal damage, and many of the compounds found in rooibos are similar to vitamin C. Thus, drinking rooibos can protect your skin from sun damage, environmental pollution and free radicals. If you have healthy skin, you will be less likely to develop wrinkles, age spots, dry skin or other aging signs. Some compounds in rooibos can even help your skin heal more quickly from injury. So make sure to add rooibos extract to your diet for healthy skin.
