Guest
Hi everyone,

I was reflecting on how everyday activities like cooking can be powerful contexts for exploring mathematics. For example, when we’re measuring ingredients, doubling recipes, or adjusting proportions, we’re practicing ratios, fractions, and even conversions.

I also find it inspiring to see how different cultures connect food and numbers. For instance, in Sweden, local menus often highlight seasonal balance and measurements a good example is here:https://sverige-meny.se/ .

Have any of you tried hands-on activities that connect cooking and math in the classroom? Maybe measuring ingredients in a bake-off, exploring ratios through cooking, or using food packaging labels to interpret numbers?

Looking forward to hearing your ideas!
