Pooja Daulat Lokhande is a Project Scientific Assistant in Mathematics Education at HBCSE. She received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics as a principal subject and physics and Statistics as subsidiary subjects. She holds a Master’s in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics of Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has also qualified for the State Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor (SET- Maharashtra & Goa). Prior to joining HBCSE, she taught Mathematics at the Secondary and Postgraduate levels. She is interested in helping students solve Mathematical problems, so she has been active for a long time as a Question-and-Answer Expert on Chegg.

Pooja plays a critical role in teacher and student workshops at HBCSE. She is also a key resource person in workshops on developing and enacting the Mathematics Laboratory. She has recently started investigating students’ understanding of Exponents and Mathematical proofs at the middle school and undergraduate levels. She has elicited thinking trajectories where mathematical terms play a role in developing conceptual understanding and creating learning obstacles.
